Why Did Alessandro Michele Leave Gucci After 7 Years?

Alessandro Michele is resigning from his position as Gucci's creative director after a seven-year long tenure.

He was appointed as Gucci's creative director in 2015 after he pulled a near impossible menswear fashion show in just five days short notice.

Alessandro changed the brand’s image after taking charge which helped reviving the brand and increasing sales.

“Alessandro played a fundamental part in making the brand what it is today through his groundbreaking creativity,” said Gucci in their statement.

The reason behind Michele’s exit is said to be his inability to “initiate a strong design shift.”

According to sources, Gucci’s parent Kering, Francois-Henri Pinault were looking for some change, which might have led to Alessandro’s exit.
