Why Does Kakashi Hatake Always Wears Mask In “Naruto”?
Kakashi Hatake is a beloved character among fans of anime and manga, even among those who are generally unfamiliar with these genres.
Kakashi also possesses amazing knowledge and combat abilities, such as the Sharingan eye, which enabled him to duplicate more than 1,000 different ninjitsu moves.
The feature of Kakashi's design that strikes out the most is his permanent face mask. The only primary cast member of Naruto whose face is hidden.
In fact, Kakashi's face is such a mystery that his students Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke have never really seen his face.
Whole episodes of both Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden are devoted to his student trio's secretive attempts to get a peek at Kakashi's face.
Some fans theories speculated that Kakashi may be hiding a horrifying defect or even that he is secretly a villain behind that mask.
The series' creator, Kishimoto Masashi, revealed in an interview that he came up with Hatake Kakashi's face mask since he thought it fits the situation given the secrecy around ninjas.
However, this made it hard to see the key characters' face expressions and emotions. As a result, core characters were not given mask, excluding Kakashi.
