In 2019, Depp filed a case against Amber stating that she lied about Depp abusing her, as she was framing him to get more money in the divorce settlement.
Amber countersued him but she lost the trial in June 2022. In addition to that, the court ordered Amber to pay Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages but she won $2 million in her countersuit against Depp.

Amber Heard confirmed that she struggled and fought hard to be part of the movie, “I fought really hard to stay in the movie. They didn’t want to include me in the film,” and she hasn’t been re-casted and it will be “a very pared-down version of that role.”
She added, “I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it that depicted my character and another character – without giving any spoilers away – two characters fighting with one another. They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch out.”
