Who Is Zawe Ashton, Marvel’s New Villain?
The actress is known for her performance in projects like Fresh Meat, Velvet Buzzsaw, and Not Safe for Work. In addition to this, the 38-year-old actress is engaged to MCU actor Tom Hiddleston, who’s been playing Loki, since 2011. The couple recently welcomed a child together.
Ashton will be playing the new villain in MCU’s next film, TheMarvels which is scheduled to
release in theaters on November 10, 2023. Playing the character of Kree Leader, Dar-Benn, she will be facing the three Marvels: Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rameau.
In her recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, she talks about some advice she got from her fiance, after being cast. She said, “It led to some incredible conversations about his experience being part of this franchise for over a decade. One of the main takeaways from our conversation was: ‘What you put into Marvel, you get back.'”
“He said, ‘If you go into this with an open heart and a great work ethic and just want to provide an amazing experience for the fans, you’ll have an amazing experience on those sets.’ He really empowered me in that way” she added.
She further added, “He also had some very good practical advice, which was: Make sure you have enough zippers to go to the bathroom in your costume. Which is very good advice, I realize now.”

The Marvels Is Going To Be An All-Female Affair
The Marvels is going to be an all-woman affair. Talking about this experience, Ashton excitedly said, “It’s an all-female sci-fi extravaganza, with a woman on the other side of the camera, I felt very moved, being involved in it. It’s not an environment you’re often in – a huge-budget movie with all the badass women and Samuel L Jackson. That just doesn’t happen.”
